Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools

Manitoba schools teach students age 5 to 19 in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Both public and private schools teach the Manitoba curriculum. Teachers and support staff recognize that students are entering Manitoba schools with different levels of English or French language proficiency and work with each student to build their language skills.

Once in high school, students choose to follow one of four streams: English, Français, French Immersion, or technology education. By combining compulsory and elective courses, students create their own balanced and challenging program. In addition to academic programs, schools offer extracurricular activities such as music, sports, art, drama, student government, and more. All Manitoba high schools prepare students aged 14 to 19 years old for post-secondary education, training or employment after graduation.
