Supporting Documents

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) assesses your eligibility based on the documents you submit in your MPNP Online application. You must substantiate all claims you made in your Expression of Interest (EOI) and all information provided in your application with credible supporting documentation.

Requirements

Format

Documents must be uploaded in either .pdf or .jpg format and each file must be less than 2 MB. If the file size is over 2 MB, try scanning and saving one page at a time rather than reducing resolution or compressing colours.

Please also note the following:

  • Documents should be scanned using a flatbed scanner and not a mobile application.
  • Documents should be scanned in colour.
  • Scanner resolution should be a minimum of 300 dpi (dots per inch).
  • No enhancement or editing should be done to a scanned document.

Translations

The MPNP requires all documentation to be in either English or French. When documents are in another language, the applicant must submit a notarized photocopy of the original document as well as a certified translation.

Translators cannot be

  • the principal applicant's spouse
  • a member of the principal applicant's family
  • a paid third party (e.g., immigration representative) that has assisted and prepared the application to the MPNP

Translations must be accompanied by a translator affidavit. The affidavit recognizes the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country where they live, that their translation is a true and accurate representation of the contents of the original document. The affidavit must contain the translator's complete contact details including name, address, phone, email address, and start and termination date of authorization if applicable.

To be considered valid, your test must have been taken no more than two years prior to the date you submit your MPNP Online application.

Settlement funds

Settlement funds are sufficient and available funds that economic immigrants must prove they have to settle in Canada. Please see the Settlement Funds page on our website for the amount of money you must demonstrate and what documentation is accepted as proof of funds.

Settlement Plan

The Settlement Plan is part of MPNP Online, where all applicants explain why they chose Manitoba as their immigration destination and how they plan to settle in the community, and find a job or, for those currently working in Manitoba, advance their career.

For skilled workers applying to the MPNP on the strength of a social connection to an established resident of Manitoba, the MPNP will send the Settlement Plan Part 2 (SPP2e) form to their Manitoba Supporter. Supporters use their form to explain how they will help an applicant achieve short and long-term settlement goals.

Express Entry applicants

Applicants who provide an Express Entry profile and verification code in their Expression of Interest and/or application must also provide

  • an educational credential assessment for your education obtained outside of Canada
  • a copy of your application/profile details from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
