After you arrive visit Manitoba START

At Manitoba START you will meet with a counsellor who will assess your personal situation and help you find the help you need to adjust to life and find a job.

START services include:

• registration for ENTRY, our orientation program for new immigrants
• referral to an employment service that will help you with your career plan
• referral to the immigrant settlement worker in your neighbourhood

Visit Manitoba Start at 271 Portage Avenue (VIEW MAP), Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. You do not need an appointment. (Evening appointment are available upon request.)

Outside Winnipeg: If you are moving to a different city or town find the local immigrant settlement service using our interactive map of Regional Communities.

Other important tasks

• Apply for a Manitoba Health Card
• Apply for a Social Insurance Number
• Open a bank account
