A spring 2014 report by RBC ranks Manitoba high among Canadian provinces as a cost-effective and high-quality destination for families seeking to settle in new homes.
The bank’s report says affordable prices and high variety of choice in the Manitoba housing market are positive factors for buyers.
“(Market) conditions helped improve affordability, as attested by RBC’s measures for two-storey homes and bungalows slipping by 1.1 percentage points and 0.6 percentage points, respectively. This was not the case for condominium apartments, however …. Nonetheless, condos’ affordability level, as well as that for the other housing categories, continues to be reasonably aligned with long-term averages, thereby suggesting little undue affordability pressure being exerted on the market at this stage.”
